Tears welled up in Dia Frampton’s eyes after Carson Daly revealed that America had chosen the half-Dutch, half-Korean singer to move on to the next round of The Voice.
Frampton wowed viewers nationwide with her performance of “Losing My Religion” by R.E.M. on Tuesday night. This week, she traded in the piano and fog for a guitar and some good old-fashioned clapping; despite the change, the response from the coaches and fans remained the same. Both loudly applauded Frampton’s talent and unique style.
Christina Aguilera noted Frampton’s evolution on the show, saying that Frampton was “the artist who has [shown] the most growth.”
Country singer Blake Shelton praised Frampton’s sincerity and earnestness.
“A girl stood out here and let her heart and soul land there on the stage,” Shelton declared.
After the show, Frampton thanked her fans on Twitter.
“I can’t believe I cried on TV! I feel like such a weirdo! Man! Thank you sooooo much for voting and being so supportive. I LOVE YOU!,” the singer tweeted.
Frampton is one of four artists moving on to next week’s final round.
KoreAm readers may know Dia Frampton from the band, Meg and Dia, which we highlighted in the January 2008 issue.
