Asian Designers’ Resort 2016 Collection Trends

Resort 2016 lends to a more conservative appeal with its long lengths and wide-leg fits.  Still living up to the ’70s revival, several designers have taken to releasing their bell bottomed visions with an expected contemporary spin.  Short skirts and dresses did have their quick appearance, but midi-lengths are still front-and-center.

With a fair share of fans and anti-fans, high waisted culottes continue to replace skinny, form hugging pants.  Perhaps a trend that appeals more to comfort rather than universal attraction, we remember when they were “in” for a quick spell years ago.  Brought back to current times with slimmer tailoring while keeping them styled monochromatically or with dressier tops lends to a sense of height and chic-ness, making the trend more approachable.

Another trend Asian designers have picked up on is extremely wide leg bottoms and jumpsuits versus the tapered and sporty fits of last year.  With ankle openings that swallow your shoes making one fluid line, we definitely like the more flowing silhouettes.
