At a Seoul fan festival, Netflix Korea put Song Hye-kyo, Gong Yoo and Byeon Woo-seok on one stage. The big news came from a character fans thought was long gone.
Cheong-san did not die at Hyosan High, and Yoon Chan-young chose a Seoul stage to say so. “You may have thought I was dead, but I, Cheong-san, am still alive,” he told the crowd. That was the headline moment of the Netflix Korea 10th anniversary celebration, a fan festival called Netflix Janchi (Netflix Feast) held at Oil Tank Culture Park.
The day began with games and other segments. The fourth part of the livestream opened with a concert for hits like Squid Game and KPop Demon Hunters, then moved into a “What Next?” showcase of six projects. Ted Sarandos opened with a thank-you, in English and in Korean. He said that a decade ago Netflix dreamed big but “none of us could have imagined that Korean stories would move hearts around the world.” He added that the company now stands “in front of a new gate.”

Fans hoping the gate would open onto a pile of footage left with less than expected. Apart from one trailer, the showcase was mostly cast introductions. There was no first teaser for All of Us Are Dead season 2, no first look at Solo Leveling, and no release dates for any of the 2027 titles, even though local outlets had reported more first looks and teasers in advance.
The trailer, and four leads on stage
The trailer was for Lee Chang-dong’s Possible Love, and all four leads came out for it. Sol Kyung-gu and Jeon Do-yeon play laid-off worker Ho-seok and his wife Mi-ok. Jo Yeo-jeong and Jo In-sung play documentary director Ye-ji and her husband Sang-woo.
Sol had the best story of the bunch. He said yes to the role without reading the script and never asked to see it afterwards. “I chose it for the sole reason that it was a project by director Lee Chang-dong,” he said. The director briefly worried Sol wasn’t interested, since every other actor had already sent notes. Sol’s explanation: “I had wanted to save the director’s work to watch later.”

Jeon said the script left “a deep impression on me, much like reading a work of literature.” Jo In-sung looked back on taking the film to Venice, Toronto, New York, Busan and London. Jo Yeo-jeong said the film asks what kind of love is truly possible over a lifetime and what it takes to protect it. The film has been in select theaters since September 23 and lands on Netflix on November 6.
Stars, hotels and werewolves
Song Hye-kyo, Gong Yoo and Kim Seol-hyun appeared for Tantara, known in Korea as Slowly and Intensely. It’s a coming-of-age series about people with nothing but dreams of stardom, thrown into a brutal, violent era of the Korean entertainment industry. Song plays Min-ja, who has chased success fearlessly since childhood. Gong plays Dong-gu, who will do whatever it takes to protect her and her dreams. Kim’s Min-hui is a bold talent with a complicated love-hate bond with Min-ja. Song described a reality that was “savage and violent,” yet one where care for each other shines “even in the mud.” The cast confirmed the December 11 Netflix date.
Lee Do-hyun and Shin Si-a represented Grand Galaxy Hotel, a fantasy series from the Hotel Del Luna team, set in a hotel that comforts the souls of the dead. Lee plays Eun-ha, the new owner after the previous one vanishes without a trace. Shin plays Sang-soon, the only human employee, a manager unafraid of ghosts. Both said it arrives next year.
Beauty in the Beast brought Kim Min-ju, Lomon and Moon Sang-min. Kim revealed the final Korean title, which translates as “Wolf Girl,” and hinted at a double meaning: “Just as Min-su has the secret of turning into a wolf, the Wolf Girl has a secret of her own.” Min-su is a werewolf who has hidden herself all her life. Moon plays her senior Hae-jun, and Lomon plays fellow werewolf Do-ha. No date was given, though a 2027 arrival is still expected.

Back to Hyosan, forward to Seoul
Back to Cheong-san. Park Ji-hu played along with Yoon’s reveal as On-jo: “I was really worried you wouldn’t return, since you disappeared last season leaving so many questions unanswered.” Yoon answered, “I missed you, On-jo.”
Park said On-jo is terrified of an “evolved” zombie crisis but keeps fighting for her friends. Cho Yi-hyun’s Nam-ra is still a half-zombie wandering around Hyosan. Lomon joked that Su-hyeok has “returned as a wonderful adult.” The new season follows the characters as college students and adults, with what Park called a “larger-scale, more intense battle against zombies in the new setting of Seoul.” The series is billed only as “coming soon,” with early 2027 still the expectation.
Byeon Woo-seok closed the show with his first public appearance as Sung Jin-woo in Netflix’s live-action Solo Leveling. He called it a “tremendous honor” to greet fans through a work so loved around the world, and said the shoot is still under way. Netflix pointed to the property’s scale: 14.3 billion views for the webtoon and web novel, plus a sweep at the 2025 Crunchyroll Anime Awards for the anime. No release window was given.
