Asian Drivers, No Survivors?

Just a stereotype? Maybe not.

Earlier this month, TwisterNederland (TNL) created a compilation of videos of drivers in Asia, which seemingly perpetuates the preconceived notion that Asians can’t drive. They present a very strong case as most of these drivers seem to have very little idea of traffic regulations.

Drivers in China, South Korea and Japan are seen driving on the wrong side of the highway, making seemingly impossible turns and attempting to squeeze through the slimmest of spaces.

Being an Asian American, I don’t like buying into stereotypes: Asians always study. Asians are smart. Heck, I don’t mind being called intelligent. But as smart as Asians may be, we’re not perfect. –Colin Takahashi
