After a long hiatus, Bruno Mars is bringing back his signature 24k magic.
The Filipino Hawaiian R&B crooner is set to star in and produce a music-driven theatrical feature with Disney. In addition to the cinematic roles, Mars will also compose and sing the original soundtrack. The project is the result of a months-long discussion between Mars and Sean Bailey, Walt Disney Studios production president. A writer or director has not yet been announced, but will soon be on board to get the film going.
This is not the first time Mars has starred in a feature, as he also voiced the sweet Roberto in Rio 2 six years ago. But with this deal in place, Mars will finally get a chance (after a small role in “Honeymoon in Vegas“) to show off his charisma, humor and well-known angelic voice — a combination we’ve all been waiting for.
