Last month EVA Airways launched yet another Hello Kitty jet– a Kikilala-themed “Shining Star” Boeing 777-300ER– in Houston, Texas. The Taiwanese international airline first introduced its partnership with Japanese company Sanrio in 2005. Houston’s jet is the seventh and final one of the Hello Kitty Jet Story. Each plane has its own theme and backstory that you can read about on the EVA Air’s Hello Kitty website.
The Hello Kitty jet flies exclusively to and from Taiwan’s Taoyuan International Airport to the following locations: Houston, Singapore, Paris, Tokyo (Haneda), Tokyo (Narita), Sapporo, Fukuoka, Seoul, Guam, Shanghai and Hong Kong.
Customers get the full Hello Kitty experience. From the gate to the boarding pass to the amenities and food, everything is decked out in Hello Kitty. (Even the toilet paper!)
“They put a tremendous amount of attention to detail into the planes,” Gary Leff wrote in View From The Wing. “Flight attendants have very specific standards for how they deliver service – like carving pats of butter into stars using molds when presenting meals on the aircraft.
Leff went on to comment that not only are the dishes aesthetically pleasing, the meals also consist of very high quality food.
I don’t know about you, but I definitely think I’ll be booking a flight soon!
