Disney Princesses and DreamWorks Heroes Dressed in Regal Hanboks

Once again, we find Elsa from Frozen wearing a gorgeous hanbok thanks to a gifted Korean illustrator.

In a previous post, we shared stunning illustrations of Western fairy tale characters with a Korean twist drawn by artist Na Young Wu, also known as Obsidian. This time, we found Disney heroines Rapunzel, Merida Anna and Elsa dressed in vibrant, traditional Korean dresses, all designed by artist Byajae.

But it’s not just the princesses who got Korean makeover. Jack Frost from Rise of the Guardians and Hiccup from How to Train Your Dragon are also seen wearing rich Korean robes, looking very much like yangbans, or nobles.

Here are some of Byajae’s sketches and illustrations below.

As beautiful as the hanboks are, this writer finds the accessories particularly charming and intricate. The little trinkets incorporate each character’s personality seamlessly and really make the garments pop.
