Insooni, one of the greatest divas in Korean history is coming to Southern California on Saturday, February 18 (6pm) to perform live exclusively at Pechanga Summit, Pechanga Resort Casino’s newly built massive concert space.
The inception of Insooni as a unique brand goes back half a century in time. Debuted in the 70s as a member of ‘Hee Sisters,’ a three-member girl band, the band’s title ‘Weeping Willow’ topped music charts for 7 weeks. Insooni then transitioned into a solo artist and made a grand debut in 1983 with the release of her all-time hit ‘Each and Every Night,’ which is still one of the most-sung songs at karaoke even after 40 years and gained national popularity.
From dance and trot to jazz and pop, the genre is not a barrier for Insooni so isn’t age. In her 40s, she made the top 10 on music charts with ‘Again,’ a dance song written by JYP. She’s also known for trying new things and collaborating with various artists. She featured Cho PD’s ‘My Friend’ in 2004, which garnered so much popularity. People thought and some still do think the song was hers because of her powerful presence and voice throughout the song. Insooni’s ‘Dream of a Goose,’ a remake of Carnival’s ballad released in 2006 became even more popular than the original song. Other hit songs include ‘Farewell Practice’ written by Kim Hyung Seok and ‘Father,’ which climbed back up the chart years later after she sang it on ‘I Am a Singer,’ the most popular TV show at the time.
