We’ve all had relationships end badly, but nothing compares to having a documentary about a past relationship go viral, then having to partake in a sequel. (It’s a good thing we don’t live in a K-drama.)
The 16-episode Korean romantic comedy “Our Beloved Summer” premieres today, Dec. 6, internationally on Netflix and concurrently on Korean channel SBS. The story follows ex-lovers Choi Woong (“Parasite” star Choi Woo-shik) and Kook Yeon-soo (“Itaewon Class” actress Kim Da-mi) as they reunite after 10 years when a documentary from their high school days goes viral. A companion webcomic will also premiere on Naver Webtoon at the same time as the show, depicting more of the pair’s high school relationship.
From the look of the multiple teasers and trailers released before the first episode, the two main characters don’t exactly get along. The first teaser featured footage of Choi and Kook’s high school days, where they bicker constantly, while the second teaser featured the pair entertaining a romance in the past before reuniting in the present. The drama is set to explore the couple’s evolving relationships as they both navigate their adult lives and their unwilling reunion.
Don’t miss out on the couple reuniting in “Our Beloved Summer,” premiering today and releasing bi-weekly every Monday and Tuesday on Netflix!
