‘Fresh Off The Boat’ Welcomes George Takei As Guest Star

The next time we see George Takei on TV, it’ll be as an ESL instructor on “Fresh Off the Boat.”

The legendary “Star Trek” actor will guest star in the ABC comedy series’ upcoming fourth season as Bernard, the charismatic teacher whom Grandma Huang (Lucille Soong) has a sweet spot for, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Takei reportedly began shooting late last week. His episode will air in late October during a Halloween-themed episode. The show will return for its fourth season on Oct. 3.

“Fresh Off the Boat” is inspired by a memoir by chef Eddie Huang, which tells the story of a Taiwanese American family making their way in 1990s suburban Orlando. The show also stars Randall Park, Constance Wu, Hudson Yang, Forrest Wheeler and Ian Chen.
