This weekend, Pride month is heating up—and no, we don’t mean the temperatures outside. (Remember that? Outside?)
Starting on Saturday, June 20, get to know four famous and fabulous drag queens over a long-distance brunch. “Drag Queen Mukbang,” hosted by Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Fire, is led by YouTubers Patrick Starrr and Eugene Lee Yang, as well as “RuPaul’s Drag Race” alums Gia Gunn and Laganja Estranja. This virtual, remote dining experience will feature hard-hitting discussions on the drag community and COVID-19, as well as plenty of the queens’ signature quips.
“The drag community consists of many artists and performers who depend on nightlife spaces to earn a living,” Gunn said in a recent press statement. “Many people in our community are struggling right now as a result of the shutdown. I am super thankful to Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Fire for calling attention to this part of the industry that is often overlooked.”
Each episode, posted every Saturday at 10AM ET/7AM PT to the Jack Fire Pride website, showcases a different performer. Filmed at home during May’s shelter-in-place orders, the series is sure to offer up some food for thought.
