Image of the Day: Ming-Na Wen Gets Giddy Over Agent May FunkoPop Figure

If you watch Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., then you know Ming-Na Wen’s character, Melinda May, is a force to be reckoned with. She is not only a veteran pilot, she’s one of the very few S.H.I.E.L.D. agents who has more black belts than Scarlett Johansson’s Marvel character Natasha Romanoff, more commonly known as Black Widow.

The point I’m trying to make? Agent May can kick ass. Talk about perfect casting with Ming-Na Wen who is already associated with strong female characters like Disney’s Mulan and ER‘s Dr. Chen.

But underneath that tough exterior and all those crazy fighting stunts, Ming-Na Wen is simply excited about her current position. Adorably excited.

“When this opportunity came up, my skin was just tingling with excitement,” Wen told us back in Fall 2013 when Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was just beginning. “I wanted to have a show that I could enjoy doing, working with people who I love, and that my kids can watch. And so I think I hit the jackpot here.”

Wen showed a little more of that giddiness when she discovered that a Funko Pop vinyl figure of Agent May would eventually be hitting the shelves. Who wouldn’t want an adorable, big eyed figure of themselves?

 

 

Well it seems Wen got her wish early. We didn’t think it was possible to love her even more, but these adorable pictures certainly do the trick.

As for the rest of us, we’re going to have to wait until May to get our hands on this figure.
