Jason Momoa Reprises His Role in ‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom’

Aquaman (Jason Momoa) is back for a sequel but this time around, he shoulders a heavier burden — as a new father and the king of Atlantis. Nicole Kidman (Atlanna), Patrick Wilson (Orm), and Amber Heard (Mera) also reprise their roles. Randall Park stars as Dr. Stephen Shin, a scientist who once helped young Aquaman wield his powers but now has questionable motives.

Aquaman’s enemy, Black Manta (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II), has only gotten stronger since their last rendezvous, now in possession of the powerful Black Trident. Director James Wan, known for his work in the horror genre (“Saw,” “The Conjuring”), wanted to further develop Black Manta in his own solo spin-off movie, “The Trench,” however it has since been canceled. Some of these ideas for the villain have been incorporated into the upcoming DC sequel, “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.” And what’s more exciting than a fleshed out, top-tier villain?

Warner Bros. Pictures’ “Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom” will hit the theaters on December 20. Until then, soak in all of the Jason Momoa content you can get — see the trailer below.
