Jimmy O. Yang is joining the cast of STXFilm’s “The Happytime Murders,” starring alongside Melissa McCarthy, Maya Rudolph, Elizabeth Banks and Joel McHale, according to Deadline.
The film is to be a comedy set in a fictional Los Angeles underworld where humans and puppets co-exist. A pair of human and puppet detectives join forces to crack a murder case involving a successful puppet show called the Happytime Gang. Yang will be playing a rookie cop who has hated puppets ever since an unfortunate past run-in.
Yang is most famous for his work on HBO’s “Silicon Valley,” but he has also been seen in several guest and recurring roles on television shows such as “2 Broke Girls,” “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” and “Criminal Minds
