John Cho has been cast into an upcoming remake of “The Grudge,” according to Variety.
Based on the cult classic Japanese horror film “Ju-On: The Grudge,” the first remake starring Sarah Michelle Gellar was released in 2004. The film followed an American nurse living in Tokyo who is trapped by a supernatural curse that sends its victims into a rage before claiming their lives. The upcoming remake will be helmed by Nicolas Pesce.
Cho is best known for his work on the comedy film franchise “Harold and Kumar,” as well as his work in the most recent “Star Trek” films as Hikaru Sulu. This past year, he starred in the indie drama “Columbus,” an unconventional love story about two unlikely people with a shared love for modern architecture.
