“The Half of It” star Leah Lewis joins as a series regular for the reimagining of the classic legal TV drama “Matlock.” The CBS reboot comes from “Jane the Virgin” creator Jennie Snyder Urman and Kathy Bates serving as the show’s lead protagonist and executive producer.
Following a similar premise to the original, Matlock serves as an associate at an elite law firm and utilizes her clever tactics to tackle new and intriguing cases each week and expose the truth. Lewis plays Sarah, an eager junior associate at the same law firm who longs to get ahead in the game by any means necessary. Wanting to be recognized for her intelligence and skills, that all comes to a halt when she is forced to work alongside Matlock, causing friction between the two individuals.
Lewis, who recently wrapped filming on the final season of “Nancy Drew,” is also set to star in Pixar’s highly anticipated animated film “Elemental.”
As one case closes, Lewis looks to have her hands full as another opens. With no evidence of a trailer or release date yet, fans of the beloved franchise should keep on the lookout when “Matlock” makes its way back to television.
