Marvel’s Asian American superheroes will assemble for an arc in “Totally Awesome Hulk”!
Amadeus Cho, the new Korean American Hulk first introduced two years ago by writer Greg Pak, will be joined by Cindy Moon (Silk), Kamala Khan (Ms. Marvel), Shang-Chi and S.H.I.E.L.D. agents Jake Oh and Jimmy Woo in an arc titled “Big Apple Showdown.”

The arc — which will run Hulk #15 to #18 — also marks the first return of Woo since 2009. Stonehouse, a South Korean artist, illustrated the cover of #17.
Silk, a Korean American who gained her powers from a spider bite, was first introduced in 2014 in “The Amazing Spider-Man” and received her own series in 2015. Ms. Marvel, a shapeshifter, is Marvel’s first Muslim character with her own series, from a Pakistani American background. Shang-Chi, also known as the “Master of Kung Fu,” is a character who first appeared in 1973.
“I found myself thinking of all the dinners and karaoke sessions I’ve had with fellow Asian American colleagues at various film festivals and conventions, and I thought, hey, Asian American superheroes would probably hang out like that every once in a while,” Pak told Angry Asian Man. “What would tey talk about? How would they bond — or what kinds of conflicts would they discover? And how would that carry over into a big superhero adventure? And now we’re all gonna find out!”
