Michelle Yeoh Joins Constance Wu For ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ Movie

Director Jon M. Chu’s “Crazy Rich Asians” is fast coming together.

The film, adapted from Kevin Kwan’s best-selling novel of the same name, has added Michelle Yeoh to its cast, according to the Hollywood Reporter Tuesday.

“Crazy Rich Asians” launched an open casting call to Asian talent in January and cast Constance Wu, of ABC’s “Fresh Off The Boat,” last month.

The pic, written by Peter Chiarelli and Adele Lim, tells the story of Nick, a New York professor who is heir to a wealthy Singaporean family, and his American-born Chinese girlfriend Rachel.

Yeoh, the Chinese Malaysian actress who is best known for her roles in the James Bond film “Tomorrow Never Dies,” as well as in the martial arts classic “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon,” will play Nick’s mother, Eleanor.

Chu last helmed the second installment of the “Now You See Me” series.
