Christmas has come early for K-pop fans. Myx TV has announced in a press release that it will be the first American cable network to air the popular Korean music program, Inkigayo.

Nowadays, almost every K-pop artist performs on live music chart programs like Inkigayo to promote new songs. Performers for the countdown are selected weekly through a chart system that incorporates digital sales, social media interactions and fan votes via mobile app. Each week, the artist with the top-selling song is recognized by the program and given an award.

Myx TV will air two preview episodes on Thursday, Dec. 18 and Tuesday, Dec. 23 ahead of the series premiere on Jan. 14 at 8 p.m. (EST). The series will feature episodes of the current season of Inkigayo airing in Korea on a weekly basis throughout 2015. Currently, the only Korean music chart program American K-pop fans can watch is M Countdown on Mnet America.

In addition to Inkigayo, Myx TV will be premiering a documentary TV series titled, K-Pop Incubation on Tuesday, Dec. 16 at 8.pm. (EST). The doc reveals an inside look at the rigorous training that hundreds of K-pop trainees undergo each year. It stars Sorn, a Thai trainee at Cube Entertainment who is currently preparing for her Korean debut. Established K-pop acts, including U-KISS and AOA, are also expected to make an appearance in the series.
