Netflix Unveils First Look At Bong Joon-ho’s ‘Okja’

A first look at “Okja,” the long-anticipated English/Korean-language pic coming to theaters and Netflix next year from filmmaker Bong Joon-ho, was made available by the streaming giant today.

The film, the director’s second in-English effort following “Snowpiercer,” features Hollywood stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Tilda Swinton, Lily Collins and Steven Yeun, as well as a Korean newcomer, Ahn Seo-hyun, in the main role as Mija.

Ahn’s Mija is a young girl who, according to Netflix, “must risk everything to prevent a powerful, multi-national company from kidnapping her best friend — a massive animal named ‘Okja.’”

Netflix co-produced the film, which was written by Bong and Jon Ronson.
