Netflix’s Martial Arts Series ‘Wu Assassins’ Adds to Cast

Netflix’s upcoming martial arts crime series “Wu Assassins” is shaping up toward greatness — Lewis Tan and Tzi Ma have signed on to the drama also starring  Byron Mann and Iko Uwais.

The show, created by Tony Krantz (“24”) and John Wirth (“Falling Skies”), and produced by Uwais (who is also stunt coordinating and martial arts choreographing) follows an assassin tasked with gathering together an ancient triad in San Francisco’s Chinatown. Stephen Fung, who works on AMC’s martial arts epic “Into the Badlands,” is attached to direct the first two episodes.

Uwais will play the chef-turned-assassin protagonist. Tan will be a triad leader who runs a car theft ring, and Ma will be Uwais’ mentor. Mann plays a character named Uncle Six. Katheryn Winnick, best known for “Vikings,” and “Sons of Anarchy” star Tommy Flanagan, have also joined as series regulars, as an undercover cop and an international crime boss, respectively.

“Wu Assassins” received a 10-episode order last month.
