Newport Beach Film Festival

The Newport Beach Film Festival, which began today, is hosting a special Asian Showcase on Monday, May 2nd. The festival will screen three films from three different East Asian nations: Go Lala Go! (China), Harmony (Korea), Redline (Japan).

Unfortunately, all three films are airing around the same time, so you can only pick one to go to.

Go Lala Go! is about a hardworking young woman who becomes involved in an illicit relationship with a co-worker; Harmony is the story of a group of imprisoned women who form a  successful choir so the main character, Jeong-hye, can spend one day outside of prison with her son; Redline is an animated film about the toughest and most destructive underground car race in the universe.

All films will screen at Big Newport and will start at 7:00 PM – tickets for the films cost $15.

After you finish watching the film of your choice, head over to the Asian Post Party, at Fashion Island Koi Pond Courtyard. Buy tickets for both the film and party for $35, or tickets to just the party for $25.
