I Googled “kimchi” and it all looked so delicious…
Thanks to freakish fall weather, there’s a shortage of Napa cabbage in Asia. What is Napa cabbage? Only the main ingredient in KIMCHI, Korea’s national dish, eaten with everything and by everyone.
A head of cabbage used to cost three to four dollars, but now costs up to 14 dollars. The government has stepped in and has ordered a tariff-reduction on cabbage imported from China, and is also offering subsidized cabbage at certain market locations, but the fact of the matter is, there’s just not enough to go around.
According to NPR, one man has taken matters into his own hands and allegedly stole 10 head of cabbage from a field in Gangwon province. Maybe they serve free kimchi in jail?
