Samsung recently launched an intense promotion for their new 3D LED televisions, featuring 3D projection mapping, which according to Wikipedia, “is any method of mapping three-dimensional points to a two-dimensional plane.”
Which basically means that Samsung projected a video onto the Beurs van Berlage in Amsterdam, and then digitally cracked the historic building in half, filled it up with ocean and swimming fish and panthers (??), before draining it to reveal the new Samsung 3D television.
Trust me, it looks a whole lot cooler than it sounds.
You can see the officially commissioned video here, but I personally think the fan-taken video shows the effects a lot better.
