Writer and artist Shion Takeuchi has signed a multi-year deal with Netflix, where she will develop new series and other projects exclusively for the streaming platform.
The writer’s Netflix deal comes after her work on the platform’s recent animated release “Disenchantment,” created by Matt Groening and Josh Weinstein. She is credited for 10 of the first season’s episodes; Season 2 is already slated for 2019.
She tweeted on Tuesday to share the news:
Well, the cat’s out of the bag! I can finally tell you that I’m making something that I absolutely cannot tell you about. https://t.co/fffVz9WnKY

After graduating from California Institute of the Arts, Disney’s Pixar added Takeuchi to the story department, according to Deadline. She is credited as a story artist for films like “Inside Out” and “Monsters University.”
