Are you looking for something good to do next weekend? Well, if you live around Los Angeles, you’re in luck. From April 8 through 10, a huge three-day celebration dubbed GOOD LA Launch Weekend will offer urban adventures, DIY workshops, literary readings, film screenings, an open marketplace and a neighborhood cultural walk. People of all ages and interests are welcome. The free event takes place at Atwater Crossing, a creative space in Atwater Village, but those interested in attending must RSVP. Check out the full weekend schedule here and RSVP for the event here.
Launched in 2006, GOOD is an integrated media platform “for people who want to live well and do good.” Both a company and community for the people, businesses, and NGOs moving the world forward, its mission is to provide content, experiences and utilities to serve this community. Toward this end, GOOD produces a website, live events and a print magazine. Last year, the group also started GOOD Projects, which focuses on helping businesses and organizations engage communities and bring great ideas to life. As part of this initiative, GOOD created weekly mini-newspapers for Starbucks during the 2008 presidential election as a way to spark conversation at the coffeehouse.
