Korean American model Soo Joo Park has been named the new global face of L‘Oréal Paris, becoming the first ever Asian American spokesperson for the brand.

Known for striking platinum-blonde hair and punk-inspired street style, Park started her modeling career at the relatively late age of 26, but quickly became a favorite on the runway and in print. The California native has strutted the runways of Chanel, Peter Som and Hood by Air and was recruited for the DKNY’s Spring 2015 campaign.

As for becoming the first Asian American spokesmodel for L‘Oréal Paris, Park told Style.com, “It’s such an honor, but I also think the world is getting smaller and the globalization of commerce is influencing industries like beauty and fashion. So to be the first to represent a global brand is a huge honor. But I don’t want to be just that one thing; I want to be the global ambassador.”

Previous L‘Oréal ambassadors include Jennifer Lopez, Doutzen Kroes and Lara Stone.
