Talk Ideas at USC

How many of you knew the University of Southern California has a Korean Studies Institute? Just to confirm its existence, why don’t you check out the institute’s first annual conference, “Ideas 2009,” on Wednesday, Nov. 18? The afternoon symposium will feature guest speakers discussing a range of contemporary Korean American issues as well as those concerning the peninsula.

The line-up includes Tami Overby, head of the Asia team for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce; Victor Cha, Korea Chair at the Center for Strategic and International Studies and former director of Asian Affairs at the White House; actor Sung Kang of Better Luck Tomorrow fame; and Richard Samuels, a political science professor and director of Center for International Studies at MIT.
