Manny Jacinto is about to travel to a galaxy far, far away.
The Star Wars series “The Acolyte” has cast Jacinto as a supporting cast member for the upcoming Disney+ series. Best known for his role as Jason in the critically acclaimed sitcom “The Good Place,” Jacinto will star alongside Amandla Stenberg, Jodie Turner-Smith and Lee Jung-jae, Variety announced on Sept. 15. Outside of “The Good Place,” Jacinto has recently starred in the Hulu series “Nine Perfect Strangers” and Netflix’s “Brand New Cherry Flavor” and featured in “Top Gun: Maverick” along with “I Want You Back.”
The mystery-thriller is just the latest in a slew of projects in the beloved Star Wars franchise. Season three of “The Mandalorian” is expected to be released Feb. 2023, while a new series, “Andor,” will be released on Sept. 21 on Disney+. Details of Jacinto’s role and the plot of “The Acolyte” have been kept in the dark, but in the meantime, you can stream “The Good Place” and “Brand New Cherry Flavor” on Netflix and “Nine Perfect Strangers” on Hulu.
