This Filipino American’s Snapchat Is Making Her $500K A Year

How much can 10 seconds earn you on Snapchat?

The answer, for Cyrene Quiamco, is $30,000.

The Filipino American social media star, who studied studio art in college and started a career as a web designer in Arizona, uses the platform as an art canvas.

Her content ranges from interactive games, quizzes and videos to drawn “selfies” with celebrities. Last year, Quiamco told Forbes that she was able to quit her day job in 2015 and was making $500,000 a year from Snapchat sponsorships, speaking engagements and consulting.

She’s worked with brands like Disney, Pixar, Burger King, Groupon and Unicef, written a book, “11 Seconds To Success,” about how to rule social media, been nominated for a Shorty Award, and been crowned one of Vanity Fair’s 100 “The New Establishment.”

“Social media is a platform that works well for designers and illustrators,” Quiamco told Forbes. “Audiences are more likely to look forward and come back to your content if you’ve put time and effort into your work.”
