Trailer for ‘The Railway Men’ Pays Tribute to Heroics of Individuals who Risked their Lives during the 1984 Bhopal Gas Leak

On the night of December 2, 1984, a deadly gas leak engulfed the city of Bhopal, exposing nearly half a million residents to a lethal pesticide, that wiped out thousands over the next several days. With lives on the line, employees of the Indian Railways in Bhopal took it upon themselves to save their fellow citizens and put their best best effort to contain one of the worst industrial disasters in the country. This is the story of “The Railway Men.”

Directed by Shiv Rawail, the four-episode series is inspired by the true stories of the heroic feats of the individuals who provided aid to residents who were stuck at the train station the night of gas leak. The ensemble cast features renowned actors R. Madhavan, Kay Kay Menon, Babil Khan and Divyenndu.

Highlighting the courage of the people who rose to the challenge the night of the Bhopal disaster and refusing to leave anyone behind, “The Railway Men” showcases how ordinary individuals can come together during the darkest of times in the face of adversity.
