Kore’s Unforgettable 2015 Gala awarded Lisa Ling with the Journalism Achievement Award inside The Beverly Hilton on Dec. 12.
Ling said she hated being Asian growing up in a non-diverse community and being called Lisa “Ring” on a daily basis.
“It’s been the greatest honor of my life to front these shows like ‘Our America’ and ‘This is Life’ about explorations of American culture. As a young Asian girl who has been conflicted about her identity her entire life, it has just been such an exciting honor,” Ling said.
