“Better Late Than Never,” which premiered Tuesday on NBC, posted promising numbers in its first showing, attracting over 7.35 million viewers.
It scored the highest with adults aged from 18 to 49 in the 10 p.m. time slot compared to its competitors, and also had an average rate/share of 1.6/6.
The reality travel show, which stars William Shatner, Henry Winkler, George Foreman, Terry Bradshaw and comedian Jeff Dye, is a remake of “Grandpas Over Flowers,” a hit reality show from South Korea about a group of 70-something actors backpacking around the world.
The Korean version was such a hit that its format was sold to NBC in 2014 – making it the first Korean television show to be exported to a major network in the U.S.
In the American version, the four-week show will have the group travel around Asia, including countries like Japan (the first episode), South Korea and Thailand.
