Vevo DSCVR Releases An Exclusive Live Video Of AB6IX’s Single ‘Surreal’

As live-at-home concerts become a trend due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Vevo DSCVR continues to live by its motto of introducing “your new favorite artists from their home to yours.” With over 800,000 subscribers, the well-renowned YouTube channel has supported many emerging artists at the early stages of their careers before they made their breakthroughs in the music industry, including now-high-profile musicians like Billie Eilish, Halsey, Alessia Cara and Sam Smith.

Today, July 20, Vevo DSCVR is showcasing AB6IX, the very first K-pop group to be featured. The channel has posted an exclusive at-home performance of the group’s single “Surreal,” which was recorded remotely instead of in-studio. Despite these difficult circumstances, AB6IX’s neat choreography and professionally shot camera angles still make for an outstanding performance.

The talented South Korean boy band consists of four members, Jeon Woong (전웅 田雄), Kim Dong Hyun (김동현 金東賢), Park Woo Jin (박우진 朴佑鎭), and Lee Dae Hwi (이대휘 李大輝), who do everything from singing and producing their own songs to creating their own choreography. “AB6IX” stands for “Absolute” or “Above brand new,” while the “6” represents the five original members plus one fandom (member Youngmin left the group in June of 2020). The group made their official debut on May 22, 2019 with the South Korean hip hop label Brand New Music.

According to Vevo reps, the channel is ecstatic to support the emergence of this talented K-pop group. “Adding AB6IX to our incredible roster of talent for the program solidifies our commitment to making DSCVR a global platform for performers around the world,” said JP Evangelista, Vevo’s SVP of Content, Programming and Marketing, in a recent press release.
