Watch Out For Freida Pinto In The Next Season Of ‘The Path’

Indian actress and “Slumdog Millionaire” star Freida Pinto is joining the regular cast of the third season of Hulu’s “The Path” as a potential love interest for a key character.

Starring Aaron Paul (“Breaking Bad”), Hugh Dancy (“Hannibal”) and Michelle Monaghan (“True Detectives”), “The Path” is a drama about the members of a fictional religion known as Meyerism. Paul leads the ensemble as Eddie, a Meyerist convert who is beginning to question his faith.

Pinto will be playing the role of Vera, a publicist who is brought in to represent the Meyerist movement and who grows close to Paul’s character. Without giving away too much, this could cause a lot of problems between Pinto’s character and Monaghan’s Sarah.

Production on the latest season of “The Path” just started in New York, and Hulu is aiming for an early 2018 release.

Pinto is best known for her role as Latika in the Oscar-winning Danny Boyle drama “Slumdog Millionaire,” in which she played the love interest of the titular slumdog Jamal Malik. She went on to achieve commercial success in the blockbuster “Rise of the Planet of Apes,” playing a doctor opposite James Franco. She also caught a lot of attention playing the lead role in the 2011 film “Trishna” and more recently for her work in “Guerilla” alongside Idris Elba.
