10 Must-Have Essentials For A Better Coachella

Coachella is right around the corner and we wanted to share with you some pro-tips on how to prevent telephone games with Lady Gaga your friends and not kill any vibes with Kendrick Lamar.

Here are some tips on how to survive Coachella:

1. Water bottle or hydration pack

Keep hydrated! Take a refillable water bottle or a Camelbak — most festivals have a water filling station available at the venue, free of charge.

Pro-tip: Hydro flask loop handle bottles are easy to carry around and keep your beverage ice-cold for up to 24 hours. Add ice to your Camelbaks to keep your back and water cool throughout the day.

2. Sunscreen

You will get sunburn. Unless you want those lobster-red shoulders and sunglass marks, pack some sunblock.

Pro-tip: Higher SPF doesn’t mean that you’ll be protected longer. Find a sunblock that works for you and reapply throughout the day for better protection.

3. Sunglasses

Keep your eyes shaded throughout the day while out in the desert. It will be bright, and you never know when the sandstorm of 2013 will come back.

Pro-tip: There most likely will be vendors with sunglasses or activations where you can score a free pair.

4. External phone charger

There most likely won’t be any outlets, and if there is a charging station, you and 75,000 other people will be in line to use it. Bring an external battery pack and charge your phone while catching another set.

5. Blanket

You’ll be glad you brought a blanket with you. They’re great to sit on to relax, and when you get cold at night, they’ll keep you warm.

6. Hand warmers

Yes, it will be about 90 degrees during the day, but remember, you’re in the desert and it can get really cold once the sun goes down. Record lows show 41 degrees. Hand warmers range anywhere from $1 to $10 depending on the count.

7. Toilet paper

Porta-Potty. Trust us.

Pro-tip: If a whole roll of toilet paper is too bulky, at least bring some travel tissues.

8. Hand sanitizer

Hand sanitizer will be your best friend during Coachella. Hand washing stations will run out of water, soap and paper towel.

Pro-tip: Bring extra hand sanitizer. Your friends will treat you like a god.

9. Wet wipes

Again, Porta-Potty. It’s also helpful when you spill some of that $15 fusion burger on your new outfit or when someone runs into you spilling that $10 beer all over your arms.

10. First aid

The music will be loud, it will be hot, there will be a line for everything, which is a recipe for a nasty headache. Advil/ibuprofen will help. Make sure to read the labels or talk to your doctor before taking any medication.

Pro-tip: Pick up a pack of the individual packs of Advil/ibuprofen and other first aid supplies. You can usually find them in the travel size section.
