According to Rivera, Protein Lab grew out of his and co-owner Iris Quiambao’s frustration with being unable to find a replenishing meal post-workout. Their shakes are basketball- and fitness-themed, including the Warrior (after the Golden State Warriors) to G.O.A.T. (Greatest Of All Time).
“Our goal is pharmacists are to take care of our patients,” Rivera said. “You use that same mentality and you transition it to healthy food. In return, your patients become your customers and you want to replenish your customers with nutrients and overall wellness in health. It was an easy transition because of my passion in both pharmacy and fitness.”
