Time to revise your east coast vacation plans “The Summer I Turned Pretty” fans! Instead of just checking out the dreamy (and fictional) Cousins Beach, make your way to New York City, where our very own Belly Conklin — Lola Tung — will soon join the Broadway show “Hadestown,” a musical that tells the story of lovers Eurydice and Orpheus.
Tung joins the show for a limited run as Eurydice, and will perform opposite fellow Jenny Han-universe alum Jordan Fisher, who has been tackling the role of Orpheus for months now. “The Summer I Turned Pretty Star” follows actress Solea Pfeiffer’s Eurydice, whose last performance is Feb. 4. Tung takes over Feb. 9 and is with the show until March 17 of this year. In a statement to Entertainment Weekly, Tung details her history with the show, “I saw the show with my dad back in February of 2020 and immediately became a fan…Eurydice is someone who tends to keep to herself but has so much love in her heart, so it’s incredibly beautiful and moving to watch her journey. She is such a fun character, and someone who I was immediately drawn to.”
