It looks like the cast is coming together for Daniel Dae Kim’s “The Good Doctor,” the ABC medical series based on the South Korean drama of the same name that got a pilot order last month.
As of this week, it’s picked up Irene Keng, who’s been seen on “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Harry’s Law,” and who will play a resident at the fictional San Jose St. Bonaventure Hospital, according to Deadline.
Joining her are Hill Harper (“CSI:NY”), Antonia Thomas (“Misfits”), Nicholas Gonzalez (“How To Get Away With Murder”) and Chuku Modu (“Game of Thrones”).
In the leading role of Dr. Shaun Murphy, the brilliant but autistic young doctor who has to prove his skills in a prestigious hospital, is Freddie Highmore, the English actor who has gained critical acclaim for his portrayal of Norman Bates in A&E’s “Bates Motel.”
“The Good Doctor” is executive produced by Kim and his production company 3AD. “House” creator David Shore will write.
The original series, which began its American remake journey at CBS, was a ratings monster in Korea.
