Today, BLACKPINK member Lisa is “the loudest in the room.”
The K-pop icon dropped her highly anticipated solo debut, “Lalisa,” on September 10. The new release features the songs “Lalisa” and “Money,” as well as instrumental versions of both tracks, and notched over 700,000 pre-sales in the first four days following its announcement.
In the title track’s accompanying music video, Lisa shimmies on a futuristic dance floor, tears up the desert behind the wheel of an ATV and honors her heritage with sparkling gold costumes inspired by traditional Thai garb. “I hope that people will hear the song and think, ‘Wow, this is it. This is something only Lisa can do,’” Lisa told New Music Entertainment.
Lisa is the third member of BLACKPINK to go solo, following bandmates Jennie and Rosé. Formed in 2016 by YG Entertainment, the K-pop girl group has since dominated charts and become a global sensation with earworm hits like “Kill This Love” and “Ddu-Du Ddu-Du.”
