First Look at Olivia Munn as Psylocke in ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’

Have we mentioned how excited we are about Audrey cover girl, Olivia Munn, playing Psylocke in X-Men: Apocalypse?

Luckily for us, we’ve already seen a glimpse of Munn preparing for her role. Psylocke, a mutant with both telekinetic and telepathic abilities, is also an incredibly skilled fighter. This seems to be no issue for Munn who released an Instagram video last month to show her sword-fighting skills.

But if you thought that was exciting, it’s nothing compared to the new issue of Entertainment Weekly which provided our first official look at X-Men: Apocalypse. The cover features Oscar Isaac as Apocalypse, Michael Fassbender as Magneto and Olivia Munn rocking purple hair as Psylocke.

What’s even more adorable is that Munn is just as excited as we are for her new role.

“It’s one of the coolest things,” Munn said at the Entertainment Weekly Lounge at Comic-Con. “It really doesn’t feel real. It’s a very cliche thing to say, but it’s just a really surreal thing when you’re on set. I try not to mess up anything or touch anything, don’t break anything because they’re going to ask you to leave. It’s this feeling of very surreal and temporary in a way, if that makes sense. Like a dream.”

And before anyone could mention Munn’s outfit showing off quite a bit of skin, she beat them to the punch. She has openly admitted that Psylocke’s outfit is rather “sexual,” but points out that wanting to look sexy does not take away from her character’s strength.

“The thing about that is that it doesn’t matter what I’m wearing as long as we’re all aware of who she is,” Munn explained. “She’s very strong and she’s very lethal and she’s very powerful, and it doesn’t really matter what she’s wearing as long as you have that strength and that presence.”

Of course, even with all her character’s strength, the outfit does get her into tight spots. Literally. “Now it fits like a glove, but it’s kind of hard because there’s been times where I’m pulling and it pops like a balloon, which did happen day one,” she revealed.

Hang in there, Olivia!
