How To Make Amazingly Fluffy Pancakes … In A Rice Cooker!

by HAEIN JUNG

Pancakes are awesome. But the cleanup that comes after making pancakes? Not so awesome.

Rocket News gives us a way to bypass the gooey, sticky mess. All you need is a rice cooker. Yes, a rice cooker.

Apparently, you just toss the pancake mix into the ubiquitous Asian kitchen appliance (along with any other tasty add-ins you’d like, such as chunks of chocolate and sliced bananas—yum!), let it cook for as long as it takes to make a batch of rice and, voila, you’ll have a fluffy pancake cake, one that’s beautifully golden yellow on the outside and moist on the inside.

The greatest part is that if your rice cooker has a timer, so you can set it so that your pancakes will be piping hot and ready to dig into right when you wake up. Oh, what a wonderful morning!
