IDENTITY 2022 to Celebrate Present and Future AAPI Artists

With millions of travelers expected on the roads and and in the skies this Memorial Day weekend, staying home has never sounded so appealing. So, for those who want to enjoy the long weekend from the comfort of the living room couch, Amazon Music has got your Saturday night plans covered.

IDENTITY 2022, a virtual Asian Pacific American Heritage Month celebration from Amazon Music, AEG, Gold House, Pacific Bridge Arts Foundation (PBA) and Transparent Arts, will stream May 25 on Amazon Music’s Twitch channel. The socially distant festivities will feature live performances, discussions and public service announcements from artists and members of the AAPI community, like Samurai guitarist Miyavi, singer-songwriter Luna Li and Korean rapper B.I. Dumbfoundead and Sherry Cola will co-host the event.

IDENTITY 2022 will also recognize the PBA’s scholarship program, created in conjunction with the Recording Academy Los Angeles Chapter to help eligible AAPI musicians participate in the GRAMMY Museum Foundation’s GRAMMY Camp. “This year, we are honored to continue to support the Pacific Bridge Arts Foundation by supporting the GRAMMY Camp scholarship program to help develop the next generation of API creatives and music executives,” Frankie Yaptinchay, senior project manager of audience development and creative partnerships for API creators at Amazon Music, said in a press statement.

To join the celebration, head to the Amazon Music channel at 5 p.m. PST this Saturday!
