John Liu: New York City's Controller

John Liu, New York City’s newest city controller and the first Asian American to hold public office in the city, has assembled his team with individuals from the public and private sector.

Eric Eve, a Citibank executive, will be Liu’s top aide. Also assisting Liu will be General Counsel Ricardo Elias Morales, Deputy Controller for Audits Tina Kim, and Deputy Controller for Finance Carol Kostik.

Liu, the son of Taiwanese immigrants, was able to win the election with the help of Korean voters in Queens, Chinese voters in Manhattan, and Pakistani voters in Brooklyn.

Liu told the New York Daily News that he wants New Yorkers to know that he and his team will “hold everybody in city government’s feet to the fire.”
