Judging by the enthusiastic crowd that gathered inside The Theatre at Ace Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles last week, you might never suspect that K-pop group K.A.R.D. has yet to officially debut.
The co-ed act greeted its American fans for the first time in a three-city tour, “WILD K.A.R.D.,” produced by SubKulture Entertainment, that also saw them in Houston and Chicago.
Members J.Seph, B.M (a Los Angeles native), Somin and Jiwoo have all of three singles under their belt, which they performed alongside ‘90s K-pop covers at the event.
“Oh NaNa,” the group’s first single, was released in December. In the few months since, K.A.R.D. has garnered an impressive following — the music video for the track has 16 million views on YouTube. “Don’t Recall” and “Rumor” have an additional 21 million and 4 million views each, respectively.
The group is under DSP Media, which has produced popular bands like Kara, Rainbow and SS501.
