Fall is here, meaning that students are either back in school or about to start a new semester in the coming weeks. To mark the beginning of autumn and the academic exodus, we would like to announce the launch of KoreAm U, our new online feature designed specifically for college and university students!
KoreAm U is a nationwide online community for Korean American students, a demographic that has carved out its own distinct mark in campuses across the country. They’re in pretty much every field: academics, religion, cultural appreciation, sports and politics. They especially know how to network and socialize.
KoreAm Journal has turned 24 this year, which means that the publication is older than most undergraduate students in school at this time. The magazine and website have each been a forum and historical archive for the Korean American community for basically an entire lifetime. KoreAm U continues that vision and extends it to the next generation of talented, vibrant individuals and future leaders.
You’ll find that the KoreAm U website is a little bare, but that’s just temporary. With the tens of thousands of Korean American students doing their thing, very soon, we’re going to have a hard time keeping up with the news and happenings.
But what exactly can you expect? Take a gander:
Connect & Share
KoreAm U is an online community of Korean American student organizations where they can share news and events as well as resources, from job opportunities to cooperative projects.
Scroll through the blog to find out what’s going on at your school or other college campuses across the country. Are you involved in a student organization, collaborating on a creative project/event, or have friends who are? Let us know! KoreAm U is driven by what students are doing, and we’d love to hear about it! Send us an email at koream.u@gmail.com.
Campus Blogs
Speaking of schools, each one will have its own campus blog. Visitors will be able to view original content exclusive to that school including events, photos, news, internship/job opportunities, and individual student profiles.
Don’t see your school or student organization? Contact us at koream.u@gmail.com to let us know!
Becoming a Part of KoreAm U
Community has always been a strong aspect of Korean Americans. Imagine one on a national scale of tens of thousands of students. We want all of them to be empowered and inspired through KoreAm U.
Students and even alumni can take part in our Student Spotlight and Alumni Archive features. Artists and writers, be sure to check out Blank Canvas and First Draft for an opportunity for your work to be shared with the Korean American student community.
