Koreatown Jewelry Heist Leaves One Man In Critical Condition

Two thieves making their getaway after the robbery of a jewelry store in Los Angeles’ Koreatown Tuesday bludgeoned a parking attendant with a hammer, leaving him in critical condition, according to news reports.

The robbery occurred at approximately 11 a.m. when two men entered C.C. Diamonds on Wilshire Boulevard near S. New Hampshire Ave. and used a hammer to smash display cases containing jewelry. After leaving the store, a parking attendant blocked their path and was hit on the head with the hammer.

The two suspects then attempted to carjack a woman’s BMW but were unsuccessful. They then stole a white van and made their getaway.

Police cordoned off the block while they looked for the suspects. It was unclear whether the suspects made off with any stolen items.

The parking attendant was taken to County-USC Medical Center and is listed in critical condition.
