BLACKPINK, Hyukoh To Perform At Coachella

BLACKPINK is about to hit Coachella with that ddu-du ddu-du — the K-pop girl group, as well as Korean indie act Hyukoh, have been announced as a part of the music and arts festival’s 2019 lineup.

After debuting in 2016, the four-member BLACKPINK quickly became one of K-pop’s top acts, with hits like “Boombayah” and most recently “Ddu-Du Ddu-Du.” The latter, released in July, spawned a record for most-viewed Korean music video on YouTube in 24 hours, with 36.2 million views (it now sits at 582 million.)

Hyukoh, another four-member band, is best known through their hit song “Wi Ing Wi Ing.”

BLACKPINK will be the first K-pop girl group to perform at the event, which takes place April 12 to 21. The last major Korean act at Coachella was Epik High in 2016.

This year’s headlining acts are Childish Gambino, Tame Impala and Ariana Grande, and also include Anderson .Paak and H.E.R.
