Get ready, everyone—TV’s messiest protagonist, Devi Vishwakumar, is back for a third season of “Never Have I Ever.”
Released by Netflix today, July 27, the new season’s trailer shows Devi (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan) taking on the halls of high school with her dream guy (well, one of them, anyway). But as the teaser goes on, it becomes clear that—surprise!—dating Paxton (Darren Barnet) may not be the answer to all of Devi’s problems, and, in fact, might even cause new ones. Audiences also get a first look at a new character played by Anirudh Pisharody (“9-1-1”), who seems to be raising eyebrows and dropping jaws.
In addition to Pisharody, “Zombies 3” star Terry Hu will join this season as trivia specialist Addison, while Deacon Phillippe will play Devi’s debate team rival from a nearby private school. “Never Have I Ever” is co-created by Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher, and the third season hits Netflix on Aug. 12.
