Unforgettable Actress of the Year: Maggie Q

Maggie Q has been an assassin hunting down the government, a tattoo artist, an FBI agent — and now, she is Actress of the Year at Kore Asian Media’s 16th Unforgettable gala, presented by BMW on Dec. 9, 2017.

Q was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, but her professional acting career began in Hong Kong after filming “Gen-Y Cops,” in which she starred as FBI Agent Jane Quigley. She caught the attention of international action star Jackie Chan, who saw a spark of greatness in Q and impressed on her the importance of working hard and performing her own stunts.

She went on to build her reputation as a serious action star in “Mission: Impossible III” and “Live Free or Die Hard,” and in 2010 took on a breakout role as Nikita in the CW’s series. The show ran for four seasons.

She played Tori Wu, a tattoo artist and test administrator from the Dauntless faction, in the “Divergent” film series, and currently depicts FBI Agent Hannah Wells in the ABC drama “Designated Survivor.” In addition to impressing audiences on TV every night, Q is an outspoken animal rights activist and was declared one of PETA’s Sexiest Vegans of 2017.
